BEN

I’ve had a life-long love of guitars and great guitar players. My father showed me the basics of guitar at an early age and I have been playing electric lead guitar for the past thirty years. During the past three years I have also taken up pedal-steel guitar with the help of my father-in-law and find that to be an interesting and enjoyable challenge.  I have been influenced by all kinds of music and musicians. The Beatles, Hendrix, Clapton, Santana,The Allman Brothers Band, Albert Lee, Vince Gill, and John McLaughlin are just a few of the  musicians that have inspired me to play from the heart.

I have had the opportunity to play with the Gregg Woodall Band since October 2006 and the musicianship of the other members of the band never fails to inspire me. I think that we play a unique fusion of country, rock, and blues and hope that all those who come to see us play leave with a smile on their face.
BEN PARRISH

I got my first drum set when I was very young. I spent hours trying to imitate the sounds of all the great drummers. I had dreams of becoming one of the greats myself. After receiving musical training in school and the drum corps, I bought my first new set of drums. That was 1976 and I felt that I was destined to play drums for the rest of my life.Through all of lifes ups and downs, drumming has provided balance to my life and it fits well with my training in electronics, engineering and software. I continue to seek a way to combine my talents into one lifelong pursuit. My drumming style is influenced by a background of Big band, Jazz, Pop, Rock, and Country music and continues to evolve and adapt.

DAVE RIVERFEST

I hope that my drumming can touch the rhythm in your soul and move you to tap your foot, clap your hands, or get up and 'Shake Your Bootie'.

My music experience covers four decades.  I played my first dance in 1967 and have been playing bass for 41 years in western and central Kansas and southern Nebraska.  I started playing 60's rock and R & B.  I was influenced by the Beatles, Dave Clark 5, The Stones & The Animals, then moved on to the R & B sounds of Wilson Pickett, Sam & Dave and James Brown.  The Show Bands out of Lawrence, Kansas also inspired me to stay with music for these four decades.  I played in the Hays area for 10 years, the Salina area for 20 years, and have been playing Country music in the Wichita area for the last 10 years.

I joined the Gregg Woodall Band in June of 2007.  Gregg, Dave, and Ben are three of the best musicians I have ever worked with.  I think our varied backgrounds of musical experience creates a unique sound.  Playing Country music now requires knowledge of Blues, Rockabilly, the "old school" Country and today's Country.

You will enjoy dancing and listening to the mix of songs fromThe Gregg Woodall Band!
